Thunder Esports Tour Tournament Rules


The following are the official rules and regulations of Esports Tour which apply to both registered and invited participants. The following rules and regulations do not limit the level of competition and gameplay. By participating in this tournament, you automatically subject yourself to the listed rules and regulations listed below.

 

1.  Registration and Participation

  1. This tournament series is open for players who reside in the Philippines, and meet the following requirements:
    • A full team of 5 players with an optional substitute player must be provided.
    • Teams must be able to head to the various venues at the allotted dates and times.
  2. By registering, teams acknowledge that all usage of photos, videos, and any form of recording during the tournament have been given legal consent by the players for media and marketing purposes.
  3. Team and player names that are found to be offensive/vulgar will not be tolerated by the organizers and a request of name change is allowed during and before the competition. Participants who do not follow this instruction will be disqualified.
  4. The registered email and contact number per team will be used to receive further instructions for the qualifiers. The email and contact number owners are responsible for sharing information to their team.

2.  Tournament Streams

  1. Teams that are found to be abusing the tournament streams will be disqualified immediately and will be denied tournament winnings for this action or any action that is abusive.
  2. Teams will be asked to act gracefully when the game is streamed, no vulgar words, taunting or spamming is allowed. Any dispute should be directed to the tournament admins directly for any issues. Any teams that is found not following this rule will be disqualified immediately regardless if the game is streamed or not.

3.  Conduct

  1. Participants must be responsible of their actions. Any participant that violates the player conduct will be penalized, including disqualification from entering further qualifiers and the current qualifier that the teams are participating at.
  2. Participants are expected to respect their fellow participants and all the MET Events staff. Participants shall not make any indecent, impolite or insulting actions or gestures towards the aforementioned parties.
  3. Participants are prohibited from being vulgar and spamming, both in-game and in the communication platform.
  4. Betting is strictly forbidden between participants and will not be tolerated.
  5. Agreeing on losing on purpose will also be considered as a disqualification if found out by the organizers.
  6. Participants are advised to be humble and to be strict with each other on enforcing these rules for smooth flow of the tournament.
  7. Any dispute may be directed to the tournament admins through the tournament’s communication platform.

4. Qualifier Venues

  1. The venue and dates for the Dota 2 and CSGO:
    • Cebu – Mineski Infinity Cebu, Unit 7, GQS Plaza, M. Cuenco Ave., Brgy. Kasambangan
      1. Dota 2 will be played on June 22
      2. CSGO will be played on June 23
    • Cagayan de Oro – Mineski Infinity CDO, 2nd Floor One Monte Carlo Bldg, Corrales st corner Hayes st
      1. Dota 2 will be played on June 29
      2. CSGO will be played on June 30
    • Pampanga – Mineski Infinity Angeles, 1F Gloans Building. Brgy. Sto Rosario Cor. Lakandula St. Angeles City
      1. Dota 2 will be played on June 29
      2. CSGO will be played on June 30

5. Mall Event Qualification and Mobile Legends Qualifiers

  1. The top 4 Dota 2 teams and top 2 CSGO teams from each city will qualify to play in their respective city’s mall event.
  2. The Mobile Legends Qualifiers and Finals during the Mall Event dates
  3. The venues and dates for the mall events are as follows:
    • Cebu – August 3, SM Seaside – South Road Properties, Cebu City
    • Pampanga – July 20, SM Pampanga – Brgy. San Jose, San Fernando, Pampanga
    • Cagayan de Oro – July 6, SM Cagayan de Oro Uptown – Brgy. Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental
  4. If a qualified Dota 2 or CSGO team cannot make it to the mall event, they must immediately contact tournament staff so that arrangements for a replacement can be made.

6. Main Event Qualification

  1. Each mall event will produce a different number of teams that will qualify per game to the main event.
    • Cebu: 1 team per game
    • Pampanga: 2 teams per game
    • Cagayan de Oro: 1 team per game
  2. Venue for the main event will be SM North EDSA in Metro Manila.

7.  General Tournament Rules

  1. Participants must follow the schedule mentioned in the tournament admins and may not agree to a time that is suitable for participants to be playing at.
    • All tournament schedules will be communicated to participants by the tournament admins.
  2. Participants may not use force outside the game to influence the outcome of the game . Severe punishments such as disqualification will be imposed and will also be banned from further tournaments run by the organizers.
  3. Participants will be required to report their victories to the tournament admins on site.
  4. The following are considered illegal and will be punished:
    • Creating/Exploiting Bugs.
    • Account Sharing/Piloting.
    • Deliberate Disconnection: Deliberately disconnecting for improper or unclear reasons is prohibited and will be punished.
    • Cheating: Using any kind of device or third-party program to cheat, or using any resembling means to cheat. Conspiring to cheat also falls under this category, and the involved parties will be dealt with accordingly.
  5. Any dispute may be directed to the tournament admins through the tournament’s communication platform.

8. Rules for Dota 2

  1. Format:
    1. Qualifier: single elimination. All matches are Bo1, except for deciding qualifier matches, which are are Bo3. The top 4 teams will advance for the mall event.
    2. Mall event: single elimination bracket. All matches are Bo3.
      • Cebu: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Cagayan de Oro: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Pampanga: 2 teams will qualify to the main event
    3. Main event: single elimination bracket, all matches are Bo3.
  2. Side selection:
    • In-game coin flip will be used to decide picks and sides.
    • Bo3: sides switch after the first game. If a third game is needed, sides will switch again
  3. A match can only start with five (5) players on each team
  4. Players will be using their own accounts and devices
  5. Heroes that have been released within the past two weeks of the date of the qualifier are not allowed for use
  6. Maximum pause time of 5 minutes. Teams must call their assigned admin immediately after the pause to present the reason for the pause
  7. All teams must present screenshots in case of a dispute

9. Rules for CS:GO

  1. Format:
    • Qualifier: single elimination, all matches are Bo1. Top 2 teams will advance to the mall event.
    • Mall event: finals match only, Bo3
      • Cebu: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Cagayan de Oro: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Pampanga: 2 teams will qualify to the main event
    • Main event: single elimination bracket, all matches are Bo3
  2. A match can only start with five (5) players on each team
  3. Lobby creation will be done with the assistance of an admin
  4. Map pool: Inferno, Train, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, Dust II, and Vertigo
  5. Side selection is as follows:
    • Bo1: Coin flip. Team that wins the coin flip decides if his/her team is A or B in map veto. Loser selects the side for the map.
    • Bo3: Coin flip. Team that wins the coin flip decides if his/her team is A or B in map veto. When A picks a map, B selects the side. When B picks a map, A selects the side. If the game goes to game 3, knife round is used to determine the side.
  6. Map vetos are as follows:
    • Bo1: ban ABABAB, last map remaining is played
    • Bo3: ban AB, pick A, pick B, ban AB, last map is the map used for game 3
  7. 4 tactical timeouts per team per map will be given, including time out. Each tactical time out lasts 30 seconds long.
  8. Technical timeouts can be called, but will need admin verification.

 

10. Rules for Mobile Legends

  1. Format:
    • Qualifier: single elimination. All matches are Bo1, except for deciding qualifier matches, which are are Bo3. The top 4 teams will move on to the second day of the mall event.
    • Mall event: single elimination bracket. All matches are Bo3.
      • Cebu: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Cagayan de Oro: 1 team will qualify to the main event
      • Pampanga: 2 teams will qualify to the main event
    • Main event: single elimination bracket, all matches are Bo3.
  2. A match can only start with five (5) players on each team
  3. All qualifier matches will be played onsite.
    • For qualifiers: players will make their own lobbies. Teams will engage in a ping check, wherein the team at the top of the bracket hosts the lobby to check if both teams’ pings are playable. If it is not, the team at the bottom of the bracket hosts to check. If both lobby hosts are unagreeable, you may ask a tournament admin to decide for you. You must present the pings of each player for each lobby so that the admin can make a fair decision.
    • For the second day  of the mall event and main event: tournament servers will be used and hosted by tournament admins. Ping checks will be done before the start of a match to check if each team’s ping is playable. All games will be streamed.
  4. Side selection:
    • For qualifiers: side choosing is based on bracketing.
      • For Bo1: Game 1 priority always goes to the team on top of the bracket.
      • For Bo3: admins will do a coin flip for each series.
  5. Maximum pause time of 5 minutes per team. Teams must explain to their assigned admin the reason of the pause. Admins can  enforce disqualification due to unexplained pauses, depending on the situation.
  6. All teams must present screenshots in case of a dispute.

11. Prize Pool

  1. The total prize pool for each mall event is 30,000 PHP. The breakdown is as follows:
    1. Dota 2:
      1. 1st place – 5,000 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 2,500 PHP
      3. 3rd/4th place – 1,250 PHP each team
    2. CSGO:
      1. 1st place – 6,500 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 3,500 PHP each team
    3. Mobile Legends:
      1. 1st place – 5,000 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 2,500 PHP
      3. 3rd/4th place – 1,250 PHP each team
  2. The total prize pool for the main event is 910,000 PHP. The breakdown is as follows:
    1. Dota 2:
      1. 1st place – 210,000 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 120,000 PHP
      3. 3rd/4th place – 60,000 PHP each team
    2. CSGO:
      1. 1st place – 100,000 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 50,000 PHP
      3. 3rd/4th place – 25,000 PHP each team
    3. Mobile Legends:
      1. 1st place – 130,000 PHP
      2. 2nd place – 70,000 PHP
      3. 3rd/4th place – 30,000 PHP each team

Disclaimer

  • Participation is at your own risk. PARTICIPANTS must follow the rules, use caution, and take care of PARTICIPANT’S own health. MET Events is not liable for any losses in relation to the event, directly or indirectly, for example in the case of a canceled event, electrical failure or similar. No person or persons shall hold MET Events liable.
  • Each participation is a binding contract to abide by the rules. MET Events reserves the right to disqualify or ban the participant for disregarding the rules.
  • MET Events reserve the right to change the rules without notice.
