Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game Glorifies Indonesian Esports in 2018

With hundreds of millions of Rupiah and a chance to represent Indonesia in an international-scale tournament

Indonesian esports scene keeps its momentum high with another prestigious national-scale tournament titled Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game that will take place on May 19 & 20 at Mal Taman Anggrek, Jakarta.

Garuda Cup presented by Tokopedia Voucher Game and MET Indonesia as well as ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) will be a proving ground for gamers in two currently trending titles in Indonesia, PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG) and Mobile Legends (ML).

Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game will be PUBG’s biggest LAN tournament in Indonesia for the first time in history. We will witness an epic battle between the biggest names in Indonesian PUBG scene on a massive scale at Mal Taman Anggrek, which made possible thanks to ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) providing all of the hardware and peripherals to create a total of 80 gamers competing simultaneously to be the best in Indonesia.

In addition, the champion of PUBG Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game will represent Indonesia in an international-scale competition, PUBG Southeast Asia Championship presented by ROG which brings together Southeast Asia’s top tier teams from each of their respective national qualifier. The PUBG Southeast Asia Championship will be held in Thailand on June this year.

The PUBG Southeast Asia Championship presented by ROG is also a part of PUBG Global Invitational 2018, the recently-announced official global tournament from the developer PUBG Corporation, taking place in Berlin, Germany. Therefore, Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game is the only way for Indonesia teams to achieve their dream competing in an officially-sanctioned international stage.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), the world’s #1 gaming brand, is choosing PUBG as their newest grounds for competitive gaming. Meanwhile, the Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game Mobile Legends Tournament will have a different mechanism from the PUBG competition. MET Indonesia directly invited two teams, Aerowolf and Louvre whom both of them were crowned in previous Mobile Legends tournaments held in Indonesia to be a part of Garuda Cup’s main event. These two teams have shown an exceptional performance throughout past events and will be expected to bring their high-level play in Garuda Cup.

But the stake is guaranteed to be much higher as Aerowolf and Louvre will be given a challenge by other teams who want to taste the glory of lifting a trophy. There will be six teams alongside Aerowolf and Louvre competing in the Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game main event, that is selected from two online qualifier phases.

Not only getting a champion’s pride, the winners of Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game will bring home a big sum of cash as the prize. A total of two hundred millions of Rupiah is prepared for anyone who succeeds in fighting against each other. Moreover, the champion of PUBG tournament will be provided flight ticket as well as accommodation to participate in PUBG Southeast Asia Championship.

To participate in Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game, both PUBG and Mobile Legends competition, players have to take part in the qualifiers which will be held starting from April 28. This chance is open to all gamers across Indonesia with a selection of online and offline qualifiers (for Jakarta and Bandung region).

Information on Garuda Cup by Tokopedia Voucher Game as well as the qualifier can be accessed through the Garuda Cup website  and Facebook Group Tokopedia Gaming Network.

A collaboration with one harmonic direction

“Since its establishment, Tokopedia is committed to being a platform where anyone can start and find anything and to realize that vision, we need partners with the same passion,” said Stefanus Abdipranoto, Lead Business Development of Tokopedia Voucher Game. “Through Garuda Cup, Tokopedia hopes local gamers can realize their dream to have a stage in the national to the international scene.
