The following are the official rules and regulations of Weeknight Showdown Season 2 which apply to both registered and invited participants. The following rules and regulations do not limit the level of competition and gameplay. By participating in this tournament, you automatically subject yourself to the listed rules and regulations listed below.
1. Registration and Participation
- This tournament series is only open for players who reside in the Philippines, and meet the participation requirements per game.
- For Magic The Gathering Arena: qualifiers will be played onsite. The top 16 matches will be broadcasted.
- For Apex Legends: invited players must be able to commit to go to the MET Events studio on designated Fridays in order to be streamed.
- For Dota 2 Auto Chess and Mobile Legends: each team must commit to the time that has been set by the organizers. All games will be handled through online coordination with tournament admins.
- Apex Legends will not have qualifiers as it will follow a different format than the rest of the games. All Apex Legends participants will be invite-only.
- Players who cannot commit to their assigned schedules may be disqualified and replaced.
- Team and player names that are found to be offensive/vulgar will not be tolerated by the organizers and a request of name change is allowed during and before the competition. Participants who do not follow this instruction will be disqualified.
2. Tournament Streams
- Teams that are found to be abusing the tournament streams will be disqualified immediately and will be denied tournament winnings for this action or any action that is abusive.
- Teams will be asked to act gracefully when the game is streamed, no vulgar words, taunting or spamming is allowed. Any dispute should be directed to the tournament admins directly for any issues. Any teams that is found not following this rule will be disqualified immediately regardless if the game is streamed or not.
3. Conduct
- Participants must be responsible of their actions. Any participant that violates the player conduct will be penalized, including disqualification from entering further qualifiers and the current qualifier that the teams are participating at.
- Participants are expected to respect their fellow participants and all the MET Events staff. Participants shall not make any indecent, impolite or insulting actions or gestures towards the aforementioned parties.
- Participants are prohibited from being vulgar and spamming, both in-game and in the communication platform.
- Betting is strictly forbidden between participants and will not be tolerated.
- Agreeing on losing on purpose will also be considered as a disqualification if found out by the organizers.
- Participants are advised to be humble and to be strict with each other on enforcing these rules for smooth flow of the tournament.
- Any dispute may be directed to the tournament admins through the tournament’s communication platform.
4. General Tournament Rules
- Participants must follow the schedule mentioned in the tournament admins and may not agree to a time that is suitable for participants to be playing at.
- All tournament schedules will be communicated to participants by the tournament admins.
- Participants may not use force outside the game to influence the outcome of the game . Severe punishments such as disqualification will be imposed and will also be banned from further tournaments run by the organizers.
- Participants will be required to report their victories to the tournament admins on the communication platform.
- Internet connection is the participant’s personal responsibility. The organizers will not be held liable for any issues that arise from a participant’s internet connection.
- The following are considered illegal and will be punished:
- Creating/Exploiting Bugs.
- Account Sharing/Piloting.
- Deliberate Disconnection: Deliberately disconnecting for improper or unclear reasons is prohibited and will be punished.
- Cheating: Using any kind of device or third-party program to cheat, or using any resembling means to cheat. Conspiring to cheat also falls under this category, and the involved parties will be dealt with accordingly.
- Any dispute may be directed to the tournament admins through the tournament’s communication platform.
5. Rules for Magic The Gathering Arena
- Qualifier and top 16 format: single elimination, best-of-3 with sideboard.
- All players are required to submit a decklist to the tournament admins before the start of the tournament. Players may adjust their decklist until a specified time period dictated by the tournament admins.
- Players may adjust their decks or switch their decks entirely from the qualifier if they make it to the top 16.
- Tournament matches will be played on-site at the MET Events studio (3rd floor, JM Raymundo building, Balete Drive, Quezon City)
- Players are required to submit screenshots of their victories to tournament admins in order to advance in the bracket.
- Top 16 matches will be broadcasted.
6. Rules for Dota 2 Auto Chess
- Qualifier format: maximum 12 groups of 8 players, 2 games played. Maximum number of participants will be 96 players.
- The number of groups and how many players per group will be adjusted on the final player count after registration. Total number of players that advance will be 12 players.
- A screenshot of each game showing the final standings must be submitted to the tournament administrators so that they can update the standings.
- Group stage format: two groups of 8 players, 9 games played. 4 players will be directly invited and placed evenly into the groups. Top 4 players per group advance to the finals.
- Finals format: one group of 8 players, 9 games played.
- All games will be played online.
- Group stage and finals will be streamed. Invited players must go to the MET Events studio for them to be streamed.
- Ranking system: players are given points based on when they are eliminated from the match. Players eliminated first are given 8 points, the second eliminated player gets 7, and so on. The last remaining player is given 1 point. The goal of players is to have the lowest amount of points after all the games in order to qualify for the next stage.
- The group stage and finals will be broken down across nine days:
- May 13: Group A, games 1-3 will be played
- May 15: Group A, games 4-6 will be played
- May 17: Group A, games 7-9 will be played
- May 20: Group B, games 1-3 will be played
- May 22: Group B, games 4-6 will be played
- May 24: Group B, games 7-9 will be played
- May 27: Finals, games 1-3 will be played
- May 29: Finals, games 4-6 will be played
- May 31: Finals, games 7-9 will be played
7. Rules for Apex Legends
- Solo challenge format will be used. Each day will have only one participant who will be streamed at the MET Events studio.
- There will be 8 play dates for the challenge, with one participant per date. The entire session will last for 4 hours, with designated breaks in between games. These dates will be communicated by the tournament admins.
- Points will be as determined by the following categories:
- Points per kill: 20

8. Rules for Mobile Legends
- Qualifier format: single elimination, best of 1.
- Top 16 format: 4-group GSL double elimination, best of 3.
- Top 8 format: single elimination, best of 3. Finals is Best of 5.
- Qualifiers will have a 128-team limit.
- All games will be played online.
- For qualifiers: players will make their own lobbies. Teams will engage in a ping check, wherein the team at the top of the bracket hosts the lobby to check if both teams’ pings are playable. If it is not, the team at the bottom of the bracket hosts to check. If both lobby hosts are unagreeable, you may ask a tournament admin to decide for you. You must present the pings of each player for each lobby so that the admin can make a fair decision.
- For top 16 and top 8: tournament servers will be used and hosted by tournament admins. Ping checks will be done before the start of a match to check if each team’s ping is playable. All games will be streamed.
- Side selection:
- For qualifiers: side choosing is based on bracketing. Game 1 priority always goes to the team on top of the bracket, game 2 goes to the team at the bottom of the bracket. Should a match need a Game 3, the priority goes to the loser of game 2.
- For top 16: admins will do a coin flip for each series.
- Banned heroes, if any, will be announced by the tournament admins.
- Heroes that have been released within two weeks before the start of the qualifiers and top 16 are banned.
- The top 16 and top 8 matches will be broken down across four days:
- Day 1: Round of 16 Group A – 5 matches, 2 teams advance
- Day 2: Round of 16 Group B – 5 matches, 2 teams advance
- Day 3: Round of 16 Group C – 5 matches, 2 teams advance
- Day 4: Round of 16 Group D – 5 matches, 2 teams advance
- Day 5: Quarterfinals – 4 matches
- Day 6: Semifinals, Battle for Third, Finals – 4 matches
9. Prize Pool
- Each game will have a prize pool of 50,000 PHP
- The breakdown of the prize pool for each game is as follows:
- Dota 2 Auto Chess:
- 1st place – 15,000 PHP
- 2nd place – 10,000 PHP
- 3rd place – 7,500 PHP
- 4th place – 5,500 PHP
- 5th place – 4,500 PHP
- 6th place – 3,500 PHP
- 7th place – 2,500 PHP
- 8th place – 1,500 PHP
- Magic The Gathering Arena:
- 1st place – 20,000 PHP
- 2nd place – 10,000 PHP
- Tied for 3rd – 5,000 PHP for each player
- Tied for 5th – 2,500 PHP for each player
- Mobile Legends:
- 1st place – 20,000 PHP for the team and 3,800 diamonds per person
- 2nd place – 10,000 PHP for the team and 1,900 diamonds per person
- 3rd place – 6,000 PHP for the team and 1,300 diamonds per person
- 4th place – 4,000 PHP for the team and 800 diamonds per person
- Tied for 5th – 2,500 PHP for each team and 400 diamonds per person
- Apex Legends:
- 1st place – 15,000 PHP
- 2nd place – 10,000 PHP
- 3rd place – 7,500 PHP
- 4th place – 5,500 PHP
- 5th place – 4,500 PHP
- 6th place – 3,500 PHP
- 7th place – 2,500 PHP
- 8th place – 1,500 PHP

- Participation is at your own risk. PARTICIPANTS must follow the rules, use caution, and take care of PARTICIPANT’S own health. MET Events is not liable for any losses in relation to the event, directly or indirectly, for example in the case of a canceled event, electrical failure or similar. No person or persons shall hold MET Events liable.
- Each participation is a binding contract to abide by the rules. MET Events reserves the right to disqualify or ban the participant for disregarding the rules.
