Tournament Rules – Globe PPGL Season 3 – League of Legends

RULES

  1. General rules

1.1. Players must obey League of Legends User Agreement.

1.2. Players and teams should set official player and team names in the game client.

1.3. All players are not allowed to broadcast the games they are playing.

1.4. All players should be officially registered for the team they are representing.

1.5. Players are forbidden to leave the playing area without administrator’s permission until the end of a match.

1.6. During the matches, players have to keep the stage tables clean from food, drinks, trash, etc.

1.7. Players can only launch the Garena client, League of Legends, and peripheral drivers on tournament computers. All other applications are prohibited.

1.8. Being under alcohol/drug influence during media and tournament days is strictly prohibited. Players caught in such state won’t be allowed to play their matches, and teams will be disqualified.

1.9. The following is a nonexclusive list of restricted sponsors:

— Non-“over-the-counter” drugs

— Firearms, handguns, ammunition providers

— Pornographic imagery or products

— Tobacco products

1.10. You are not allowed to change a player after the start of a match.

1.11. Number of players must be 5-7 for each team (up to 2 sub players). A team missing a player will get a default loss.

1.12. Players may only play for 1 team, the team they registered with. Players caught playing for a different team will have both teams disqualified.

 

  1. Online Matches

2.1. All Players will be expected to be ready to join the game-lobby at the time specified by PPGL Administrator. Readiness includes, but is not limited to all five Players on the Starting Line-up having completed client patching, configurations of in-game settings, and completed rune pages.

2.2 Tournament held on a rolling schedule will have estimated match start times. Teams are required to be available    to play their match up to two hours in advance of their estimated time, or as otherwise directed by the PPGL   Administrator.

2.3 Each team will be given 10 mins grace period, failure to show up will led to disqualification.

2.4 Teams May pause the game for a maximum of 10 minutes over the course of a single Game, or 20 mins over the course of a match. Pausing beyond the allowance-time will be considered unfair play and penalties will be applied at the discretion of the PPGL Administrator.

2.5 Teams are required to field a full team of five players to start a match. If a player disconnects during a Game, a team may continue play after the pause-allowance is used to attempt to complete the game

2.6 Only five (5) players per team are allowed in the game-lobby. No additional spectators are permitted for any reason. Unless the PPGL administrator will be watching the game.

 

  1. Refereeing and controversial situations.

3.1 Schedule and refereeing for every single match is done by the match admin. The admin will make decisions according to these Regulations and inform teams. In extraordinary situations or in situations which are not described here, the main admin will be the one to decide.

3.2 From teams’ sides, only the captain or manager can communicate about any issues or controversial situations.

— Protests have to be filled within 10 minutes after the match finish, otherwise they can’t be used to influence the result.

3.3 Decisions about the controversial situations can only be made by the Main Admin.

3.4 Admins’ decisions are ultimate and are not open to discussion.

3.5 If two teams played a match, it cannot be replayed under any circumstances.

3.6 MET has the right to override any decision made by the admins.

 

  1. Code of Conduct

 4.1 Competition Conduct

4.1.1 The following will be considered unfair play and will be subject to penalties at the discretion of PPGL Administrator.

                4.1.1.1 Collusion

Collusion is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more players and/or confederates to disadvantage opposing players. Collusion includes but is not limited to, acts such as:

  • Soft play, which is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more players to not damage, impede or otherwise play to a reasonable standard of competition in a game.
  • Pre-arranging to split prize money and/or any other form of compensation.
  • Sending or receiving signals electronic or otherwise, from a confederate to/from a player.
  • Deliberately losing a game for compensation, or for any other reason, or attempting to induce another player to do so.

4.1.1.2 Competitive Integrity
Teams are expected to play at their best at all times within any PPGL Match, and to avoid any behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play. For the purpose of clarification, team composition and the pick/ban phase will not be considered when determining whether this rule has been violated.

4.1.1.3 Hacking

Hacking is defined as any modifications of the League of Legends game clients by any player, team or person acting on behalf of a player or a team.

4.1.1.4 Exploiting

Exploiting is defined as intentionally using any in-game bug to seek an advantage. Exploiting includes, but is not limited to, acts such as: glitches in buying items, glitches in neutral minion interactions, glitches in Champion ability performance, or any other game function that, in the sole determination of SEA Tour Officials, is not functioning as intended.

4.1.1.5 Spectator Monitors.

Looking at or attempting to look at spectator monitors.

4.1.1.6 Ringing.

Playing under another player’s account or soliciting, inducing, encouraging or directing someone else to play under another player’s account.

4.1.1.7 Cheating Device.

The use of any kind of cheating device or programs.

4.1.1.8 Intentional Disconnection.

An intentional disconnection without a proper and explicitly-stated reason (e.g. rage quit).

4.1.1.9 PPGL Admin Discretion.

Any other further act, failure to act, or behavior which, in the sole judgment of PPGL Administrator, violates these Rules and/or the standards of integrity established by PPGL for competitive game play.

 

4.2. Profanity and Hate Speech.

4.2.1 Participants must not engage on harassments or hate speech in any form. This includes, but is not limited to:

4.2.1.1 Hate speech offensive behavior, or verbal abuse related to sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion

4.2.1.2 Stalking or intimidating (Physically or Online).

4.2.1.3 Spamming, Raiding, hijacking, or inciting disruption of stream or social media.

4.2.1.4 Disregarding Administrator’s directives and decisions.

4.2.1.5 Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information.

4.2.1.6 Unwelcome sexual attentions. This includes, unwelcome sexualized comments, jokes, and sexual advances.

4.2.1.7 advocating for, or encouraging any of the above behavior.

 

4.3 Subjection to Penalty

Any person found to have engaged in or attempted to engage in any act that PPGL believes, in its sole and absolute discretion, constitutes unfair play, will be subject to penalty. The nature and extent of the penalties imposed due to such acts shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of PPGL staff.

4.4 Penalties Upon discovery of any Team Member committing any violations of the rules listed above, the PPGL Administrator may issue the following penalties found in the PPGL Penalty Index which includes, but is not limited to:

4.4.1 ​Verbal Warnings(s).

4.4.2 ​Loss of Side Selection for Current or Future Game(s)

4.4.3 ​Loss of Ban for Current or Future Game(s)

4.4.4 ​Fine(s) and/or Prize Forfeiture(s)

4.4.5 ​Game Forfeiture(s).

4.4.6 ​Match Forfeiture(s).

4.4.7 ​Suspension(s).

4.4.8 ​Disqualification(s).

Repeated infractions are subject to escalating penalties, up to, and including, disqualification from future participation in PPGL. It should be noted that penalties may not always be imposed in a successive manner. PPGL, in its sole discretion, for example, can disqualify a player for a first offense if the action of said player is deemed egregious enough to be worthy of disqualification by PPGL.

4.5 Right to Publish

PPGL shall have the right to publish a declaration stating that a Team Member has been penalized. Any Team Members and/or team which may be referenced in such declaration hereby waive any right of legal action against PPGL, Garena, MET and/or any of their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, or contractors.

  1. Game Lobby Creation

5.1 For the Playoffs: the PPGL Admin will be the one to create the game lobby. Players will be directed by PPGL Admin to join a game-lobby, as soon as Setup Time has ended, in the following order of positions: Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC, Support.

5.2 For the Online Qualifiers: the players are the one will be creating the game lobby, information will be exchange through the official tournament Discord.
